Rochester

Take French with us in Rochester

Alliance Française is excited to offer French classes in Rochester this Spring! Classes take place at 125 LIVE 125 Elton Hills Drive NW Rochester, MN 55901. Registration can be done through AFMSP on-line, by phone at 612 332 0436 or in person.

Advanced Conversation and Current Events

For students with extensive French experience.  For example, can use the conditional, imparfait, subjonctif etc. Conversation will be based on current events topics.

              Need a crash course in survival French? Reserved for those who haven’t studied French before.

Once a week  for 2 hours, for a duration of 6 weeks.

Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 pm, May 11-June 15. $195

Book Club

Let AF instructor Damien Sadrant guide you through a book in French. The novel Le collier rouge by award-winning contemporary author Jean-Christophe Rufin is the mysterious story of the consequences of WWI in a small French village. Study materials will be available. The book can be purchased via Amazon and is not included in the price listed here.

For students with extensive French experience. The first session will provide an introduction to the author and the selected text and the second session will be a discussion of the book. Participants register for both sessions.

This Spring the following classes are offered:

Beginner 2 – $425 per student ($14.16/hour), plus Alter Ego + textbook and workbook ($80)

For students having completed Beginner 1 or an equivalent level.

Once a week for 3.25 hours, for a duration of 9 weeks with Virginie Donzo

Wednesday 5:45-9 pm, April 5-May 31 (9 weeks)

Beginner 3 – $425 per student ($14.16/hour), plus Alter Ego + textbook and workbook ($80)

For students having completed Beginner 2 or an equivalent level.

Once a week for 3.25 hours, for a duration of 9 weeks with Anna Wise

Thursday 9 am-12:15 pm, April 6-June 1 (9 weeks)

Reading Le chien jaune de Simenon by Georges SIMENON 

$185 ($18.50/hour), Once a week for 2 hours, for a duration of 5 weeks

Read a classic « polar » with AF instructor Denis Dépinoy this Spring. This French language mystery novel by Belgian author Georges SIMENON is part of the Commisaire Maigret series. It recounts a series of mysterious murders in Concarneau that awakens the fear of the city’s population, symbolized by the arrival of a strange yellow dog…Solve a mystery en français!

For students with extensive French experience (B1 and higher).  For example, can use the conditional, imparfait, subjonctif etc. The book is available online at http://www.albertine.com/books/factsheet/?sku=97822531429280000000and is not included in the class price.

AF is glad to return to St Paul, in partnership with the University Club of St Paul at their Summit Ave location. Classes are open to AFMSP members and University Club members.
