About the book

Trois femmes, trois vies, trois continents. Une même soif de liberté.

Three women, three corners of the world, three different cultures. Three lives shaken by an event that unexpectedly weaves their fates together.

India: Smita, a member of the Untouchables, spends her days cleaning latrines. In an effort to spare her daughter from the same fate, it is her goal to send her daughter to school, whatever the cost.

Sicily: Giulia works in her father’s wig workshop, where she helps him collect, wash, and treat hair from the city’s salons. When her father is the victim of an accident, she learns that the family’s is at a terrible risk.

Canada: Sarah is a reputed lawyer in a cut-throat world where the smallest weakness may cost her her dearly-earned place. And such a weakness, it appears, may just be lying in wait.
