Le club est ouvert à tous !

Practice your reading skills and comprehension with our intermediate French book club: Les Navigateurs de la Littérature. This group meets the second Wednesday of every month from 7pm – 8pm. Each meeting focuses on a different book, so both returning readers and newcomers are invited to attend. During meetings, we discuss the plot of the book, review what we did and did not like, and explore any questions that members may have. Everyone also selects a favorite excerpt to read aloud and to bring to the conversation. The discussion will be in French!

Look for our flyer at the Alliance with upcoming dates and books. This event is free and open to the public! You do not need to be an AF member to participate in our book clubs.

L’Ascension du Haut Mal (Tome 1) de David B.

This autobiographical novel narrates a family’s life as the oldest son develops severe epilepsy. This story, told from the perspective of the younger brother, details the family’s various and desperate attempts to seek solutions for the son’s disorder, from doctors to alternative medicines. Written as a graphic novel, the drawings become more and more fantastical as the older brother loses control of his life and the artist increasingly seeks company in his drawings.
