Practice your reading skills and comprehension with les Navigateurs de la Littérature. We talk about the story of the book, the things we liked or disliked about this book. Members are welcome to ask questions about the things they did not understand when they read the story first. Everyone selects their favorite extract, reads it out loud and we discuss this special passage. Our discussion is in French as much as possible!
Returning readers and newcomers are all invited to attend and discuss.
The group discusses a different book at each meeting.
This month’s selection is “Le ventre de l’Atlantique“ de Fatou Diome.
A special selection for our Mois de la Francophonie enlightening Senegal this year.
Fatou Diome is a Senegalese writer, born in Niodior, known for her bestselling novel “Le ventre de l’Atlantique”, published in 2001. Her work explores immigrant life in France and the relationship between France and Africa.
March 8 is also La Journée Internationale des Droits de la Femme, and we are proud to highlight a woman-writer on that special day too!
The book can be purchased on Amazon or Albertine.
This group usually meets the second Wednesday of every month.
