Alliance Française to Celebrate Vietnam during the Mois de la Francophonie

The mois de la francophonie is an international celebration of all things French and French-speaking! The Alliance Française is excited to invited renowned writers, local artists and others to celebrate Vietnam this March.

Join the Alliance Française Minneapolis-Saint Paul throughout the month of March as we celebrate Vietnamese culture and its connections to the French language.

On March 3rd at 4pm, the Alliance kicks off the month at the Church of St. Anne – St. Joseph Hien with the Timeless Charm Party. The program features a talk from AFMSP Director Christina Selander Bouzouina, a historical and cultural presentation of Vietnam, and traditional dance!

On March 6th at 6:30pm, we are delighted to host renowned writer Kim Thúy for a book reading and signing session. Thúy is a Vietnamese-Québecoise author who is known for her succinct prose and writings on identity.

March 10th at 11:00am, the Hung Kings and Trung Sisters commemorate the founding of Vietnam at the Minneapolis Central Library. There will be a parade, ritual ceremonies, dance and more.

On March 14th, the Alliance book club Les Navigateurs de la Littérature will discuss Kim Thúy’s book Ru at 6pm.

We look forward to hosting Phuoc Thi Minh Tran at 4pm on March 24th for a conversation about Vietnam. Tran is a local author of children’s books and librarian.
