Une lettre de la Directrice

Bonjour,

I would like to share with you a true story how our non-profit organization changes lives.

As a junior at Park Center High School, Lacy was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program. Having already completed French 5 and with no options available to continue learning the language, she applied receive a one-year scholarship to classes at our Alliance Française.

As she began taking classes with us, Lacy’s love for all things French blossomed. She joined our Teen Club, becoming its President, and participated in one of our book clubs. Last spring, Lacy learned that she was awarded a scholarship to George Washington University in Washington D.C. Due to her diligent studies at Alliance Française, Lacy tested out of the first two years of GW’s French program.

At George Washington University, Lacy continues to pursues her passion for all things French and was elected a Freshman Representative on its French Club. This role gained Lacy an invitation to the White House on February 11, 2014, when French President Hollande visited US President Obama. I’ve shared a few photos she
took that day with you here.

I am so proud that our organization could help Lacy, and many other members, experience something so extraordinary. Every day, in big and small ways, our Alliance Française changes lives and betters our community.

Thank you for your continued support.
