Languages of Togo Workshop with Awa Mally

LanguageS OF Togo Workshop with Awa Mally

What do French, Ewe, Kabye or Aja all have in common? They are all languages spoken by people in Togo! Join Awa Mally for a language workshop to discover or practice a variety of Togolese languages in a fun and social atmosphere!

Awa Mally, a Togolese photographer in Minneapolis, intertwines her cultural heritage with her artistic vision. Immigrating from Togo in 2003, she discovered her passion for photography through the Walker Art Center's Teen Arts Program and a social justice group she co-founded in 2016. A self-taught artist, Awa has worked with local organizations, created cover art for global musicians, and featured her work in prominent exhibitions, including a downtown billboard project and a show at the Whitebear Art Center.
