January 2020 - Join AFMSP in North Africa for a guided tour
Be a part of the Alliance Française adventure in North Africa and discover the imperial cities, history, architecture and cuisine of Morocco. On this adventure, we will visit Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Meknes and Marrakech, as well as take in the natural beauty of the Atlas Mountains, Cedre Gouraud Forest and Ouzoud Falls.
The Imperial City adventure lasts for ten days, from January 15 to 24, with an optional four-day Sahara Supplement, an unforgettable excursion to the legendary desert, its oasis and kasbahs, from January 24 to 29.
This unique experience is perfect for people with a spirit of exploration and adventure, looking to discover North Africa. The tour is organized by Jane Shortridge and Christina Selander Bouzouina, Executive Director, Alliance Française.
Where We’ll Go and What We’ll See
Rendez-vous in Casablanca on Wednesday, January 15. Our multilingual guide will meet us at the airport and accompany us to our hotel. After a welcome dinner and night in Casa, we will depart aboard a private van for an afternoon in Rabat, the capital, and then on to Fes, the cultural capital.
Volubilis
Day trips will includes visits to the Roman ruins in Volubilis, a Berber city considered to be the ancient capital of Mauritania and Meknes, a former capital with stunning Spanish-Moorish architecture and visit a nearby vineyard. En route to Marrakech, we’ll stop in the Atlas Mountains at the Cèdre Gouraud Forest and breathtaking Ouzoud Falls.
In Marrakech, we’ll visit The Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, discover souks, admire the Jardin Majorelle in all its beauty and enjoy a cooking class.
