Rencontre Littéraire avec Alfred Alexandre

View the hour-long documentary Contes de cyclone en septembre which recounts the impact of Hurricane Hugo on the island of Guadeloupe in 1989, then discuss climate change in the region.
The film will be shown in French, with English subtitles, and discussion will be in French.

The music of Guadeloupe & Martinique

With Olivier Glissant and Victor O, two contemporary musicians from Martinique living in New York and Paris, respectively. Olivier Glissant is a composer, conductor, producer and created the Brooklyn Orchestra in 2015. Victor O's music celebrates the universal themes of human relations, expressing in his songs the cultural richness that has come from beautiful exchanges around the globe. They will share their influences, background and future projects with Jerome Sebastien Camal, professor at Madison University.
