Join us in La Grande Salle at the Alliance Française to attend an online lecture on the Millennium of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Chartres! Discover, through our large screen, the fascinating history and architecture of this renowned monument live! This event will be in English.
This inaugural lecture is part of a series of lectures organized by American Friends of Chartres and the Maison Albertine. The speakers will delve into the cathedral’s stunning architecture, renown stained-glass, and magnificent sculptures. The monuments’s rich history and art from medieval times will also be highlighted. The lecture will begin by a few introductory remarks about Bishop Fulbert, the School of Chartres, and the Cathedral(s) by MJ McGregor, Ph.D. MJ helps lead pilgrimage retreats to Chartres Cathedral in France.
About the speakers
The inaugural lecture will feature distinguished speakers, including H.E. Laurent Bili, Ambassador of France; Ms. Dominique Lallement, President American Friends of Chartres; Mrs. Anne Embs of the French Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Culture; Monseigneur Philippe Christory, Bishop of Chartres; and Ms. Cora Bern-Klug, graduate student, the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.
