Ciné-Club: bonne mère
Join us for our monthly Ciné-Club where we watch engaging French films on the big screen in la Grande Salle! Films are shown in French with English subtitles.
For the month of January, we will be watching the film Bonne Mère (2021), directed by Hafsia Herzi. The movie follows the main character Nora, a housekeeper in her 50s living in a multigenerational family in a small Marseille apartment. After her son is arrested in a gas station robbery, Nora does everything she can to help him as he remains incarcerated awaiting trial. A beautiful and poignant portrayal of motherhood and family, the film won the Ensemble Prize in the Un Certain Regard category of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.
The film will begin at 6 pm and has a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. This event is free of charge with a $10 suggested donation to support our cultural programs. Register now to save your seat!
