‘‘Le Goût d’un pays’’ is a meeting between Gilles Vigneault and Fred Pellerin during maple syrup season. It is a choral documentary that tells about Québec through one of its most emblematic rituals. In the clear and inspiring light of spring, a drop of sap pearls on the point of the blowpipe. The two poets pick it up and spin the metaphors. The maple syrup making traditions takes the form of vibrant pictures. The richness of the words and the power of simple gestures reveal the beauty and fragility of Quebec’s culture.
