Join us for a young community member’s debut art show. Maya Ann’s works explore finding strength in art while living through trauma and chronic pain.
About the artist
Maya Ann grew up in the city, but moved to a Twin Cities suburb a few years ago. Age 12 now, she has enjoyed art in all its forms since as early as she can remember. Starting at age 2 she worked with her mother and grandmother with fabric and clothing design with the vision of making every young girl feel beautiful in her own clothing. At 9 she fell in love with drawing and painting. Oil and acrylics are her favorite way to share her experiences on canvas.
About Limitless
Limitless, an art collection by Maya Ann, emerges from a dark time in her life. While dealing with traumatic and painful experiences in her family, Maya Ann was diagnosed with Erythromelalgia, a rare vascular pain disorder triggered by stressful events.
To cope, she used her voice and vision to bring into the world “Limitless” - her first ever collection and a testament to the cathartic power of creation and art.
