Don Holzchuh. American. Born 1955. Lives and works in Minneapolis.

Don Holzschuh is a plein air painter whose loose paint and high-keyed colors have captured the essence of local cafés, parks, residential neighborhoods and downtown streetscapes since the 1980s. He has also painted the lush river valleys of southeastern Minnesota and rural France, as well as scenes from travels in the Netherlands. Don Holzschuh has exhibited his paintings internationally. His works are in art collections in the United States, France, Germany, Norway and the Netherlands.

———————————

In 1991 Don traveled to Bretagne at the invitation of two Minnesotan artists - Scott DeRudder and Elizabeth Manfredi. They had been renting a farm house near the Commune of Grace-Uzel for several years. The areas he painted are Grace-Uzel, Treve, Pontivy, Loudeac and Saint Brieuc. The weather  did not cooperate with outdoor painting… He found out later that this area was the rainiest part of Bretagne!

This exhibit opens on Friday, May 7th at 6pm and will be on display from May 7th until May 29th.
