The Alliance Française is proud to partner with Saint Sahag Armenian Church as they showcase Treasures of Memory & Hope exhibit.
This exhibit that honors the survivors of the Armenian Genocide and their descendants in Minnesota will open on Friday April 16th at 6pm.
Online event with Fr. Tadeos Barseghyan, Michele Byfield Angell, John Desteian and Artyom Tonoyan.
Did you know that France was one of the first countries to intervene to save many lives during the Armenian genocide? When Armenian families tried to defend themselves and were surrounded on the mountain of Musa Dagh, it was a French battleship, Guichen, that approached the shores and rescued these families.
As a result, large Armenian communities were formed in Paris, Marseille and Lyon and they still exist today.
The French National Assembly officially recognized the Armenian Genocide and April 24th was declared a Day of Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide in France. The Republic of Armenia and Armenians around the world share a profound love and friendship with the French people.
Join us online for the opening of our first exhibition in our Galerie since the beginning of the pandemic! The exhibition will be on display at the Alliance Française from April 17th until May 1.
