Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul is launching a Capacity-building Campaign with a goal of $2 million to create a Board-designated Reserve Account.

AFMSP is the 5th largest chapter in the United States, and the only one among the top five without an endowment to support a sustainable future for our organization and illustrate our long-term commitment to our mission promoting the French language and celebrating French-speaking cultures in our community.

Nearly five years ago, 300 AFMSP members and friends contributed over $3,368,000 to purchase our beautiful new home in the heart of the Twin Cities, the Joly Family Center for International Understanding. Six months after inaugurating our new facility, the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to temporarily close our doors.

Today, our classes and events welcome more participants than ever before. With dwindling French programs in schools and universities, as well as increasing numbers of Francophones in our community, the need for AFMSP is stronger than ever.

This fund will be used to ensure the financial health of AFMSP for generations to come, so that we can continue our important work in the community.

Please Consider Making a Contribution

Board-designated Reserve Account will:

  • Offset personnel costs, including salaries, health insurance, retirement program, and associated taxes for our beloved staff, the greatest expense of our service-providing organization.

  • Fund any unexpected, urgent capital repairs to our new building.

  • Ensure that AFMSP will continue in its mission and important work in our community for the next 100 years.
