JANUARY 16-22, 2023
THE TRIP
Skiers and non-skiers alike are welcome to join in this week-long discovery of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in the French Alps! In addition to enjoying winter activities and scenery, we’ll learn about the history, architecture, geology, cuisine and traditions of the Haute Savoie region.
During our six day mountain getaway, we will visit the highest peak in Europe and stay at the iconic, newly-renovated Hôtel Gustavia (also famous for its Après Ski). The trip includes all breakfasts, four lunches and four dinners, offering an array of local specialties in unique establishments, from casual to gourmet.
This unique adventure is perfect for people who like to travel with a spirit of exploration, looking to discover one of the most legendary winter wonderlands in the world. Skier and snowboard price includes 5 day gear rental and pass. Land only, airfare not included.
WHERE WE’LL GO AND WHAT WE’LL SEE
We’ll rendez-vous in the hotel lobby in Chamonix, followed by a walking tour of the town in English to get acquainted with our new locale, and then enjoy a traditional fondue dinner among friends.
Skiers and snowboarders will enjoy three days on some of the most famous slopes in the world, le Brévent, les Grands Montets, Argentière, while non-skiers will discover the famous red train on a visit to the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) and other sites.
All together, we’ll catch a cable car to L’Aiguille du Midi for a visit and lunch at the highest restaurant in Europe, 3,842 meters above sea level. Night-time snowshoeing and a local cheese tasting will awaken your senses but one of the highlights is sure to be a morning at the thermal baths whose healing powers will soothe even the sorest muscles. Spend our last day skiing, shopping or au repos before our final dinner together at the Michelin-starred Albert 1er. Bon voyage!

FAQ
How do I get to Chamonix to meet the group?
Chamonix is approximately 1 hour from the Geneva airport or 2 hours from the Lyon airport. You can book a ticket on a shuttle bus here. Chamonix is also accessible via train and Hotel Gustavia is directly across from the train station. If you would like us to help you, please just call or email AFMSP!
I don’t ski or snowboard but I would like to learn, is that possible?
Bien sûr ! Ski or snowboard lessons can be arranged. The cost of any lessons is not included in the group trip price and is at the expense of the participant.
I would rather bring my own skis or snowboard.
If you decide to bring your own gear, you can do so at your own expense. The price of the trip will still remain the Skier/Snowboarder rate which also includes the 5-day lift pass.
